Jakarta, October 28, 2025 – Astra Property, through Astra Land Indonesia, reinforces its commitment as a property developer that not only focuses on creating quality developments but also on fostering a sustainable industry ecosystem. Through the International Conference “Reimagining Space”, held as part of the Jakarta Architecture Festival 2025 in collaboration with the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI) Jakarta, at Catur Dharma Hall, Menara Astra, Astra Property brought together more than 300 professionals and members of the public to engage in dialogue about the future of Jakarta’s urban spaces.
As the host of a conference that showcased global perspectives from Indonesia, India, and Japan, Astra Property reaffirmed its role as a facilitator of strategic discussions, connecting key stakeholders including architects, academics, developers, and the public, to formulate innovative solutions for Indonesia’s property and urbanism challenges.
“Architalks is more than just an event, it is a manifestation of our philosophy that great properties are born from collaboration and open-minded thinking,” said Demmy Indranugroho, Head of Leasing Management and Corporate Communications at Astra Property. “Through this platform, Astra Property positions itself as a facilitator for the industry, a space where progressive ideas meet practical applications. We believe that to create properties that truly enhance quality of life, we must continue to listen, learn, and collaborate with the best minds, both locally and globally.”
The conference featured two in-depth sessions with prominent speakers: Vinu Daniel (India) and Adi Purnomo (Indonesia) in the first session, followed by Budi Sumaatmadja (Indonesia) and Takamori Yamazaki (Japan) in the second. The first session explored “Barefoot Architecture” by Vinu Daniel, emphasizing collective community engagement and the use of local techniques in design, followed by “Reimagining Cities” by Adi Purnomo, which highlighted the importance of utilizing small urban spaces for green areas.
The second session, “Architecture & Urbanism” by Takamori Yamazaki, examined how high-rise building architecture responds to challenges in accessibility and public spaces through efficient and inclusive building design and how property can serve as a solution to underutilized urban spaces in Jakarta, while “Cities for All” by Budi Sumaatmadja elaborated on how the expansion of urban typologies in Jakarta grows along with the development of high-rise building pattern from time to time.
“We are proud to serve as a platform for discussions about Jakarta and its vast potential, from empty buildings and unused land to public spaces,” added Demmy. “Today, we are not only addressing challenges but also exploring solutions alongside leading experts. As a developer, we are committed to applying the insights gained from this dialogue to our future projects.”
Architalks is an Astra Property initiative that serves as an annual strategic dialogue platform for Indonesia’s architecture, property, and urbanism communities. Over the years, the program has brought together local and international perspectives to enrich the industry discourse. More than just a discussion forum, Architalks underscores that true leadership in the property industry is not defined by building the tallest or largest structures, but by facilitating progressive thinking that drives the industry toward a better future.
